Volunteer
“It’s evident that GLOW members are committed to what they are doing because they believe in it. Their passion is contagious”
Why I Volunteer
Be a Part of An Exciting, Growing Organization. Make a Difference.
GLOW’S Financial Education and Scholarship programs offer many ways for you to contribute and volunteer in your community. Opportunities to volunteer include serving as a Financial Literary Trainer, College Financial Planning Trainer, or Financial Education Mentor. The time commitments vary from role to role, but each role is a great opportunity to help high potential, college-ready, high school students understand the financial tools they need to succeed in college and life.
Financial Literacy Education Workshops
Get trained to help students gain a basic understanding of personal finance and money budgeting skills. Your dedication and time provide these students with a firm understanding of how best to manage their money.
College Financial Planning Workshops
Many of our students are the first in their family to go to college and could benefit greatly from mentors who could guide them and provide moral support during the college application and financial planning/aid process. Your assistance will help these students become financially prepared for their first year of college and beyond.
Why Volunteer?
- Make a student’s college dream a reality
- Be someone’s mentor and role model
- Help break the cycle of poverty and lack of access to quality education
- Meet and network with other volunteers
- Get training to facilitate and lead workshops
- A few hours of your time can make a great impact on a deserving student’s life
